Gobundance Foundation: Building a Trusted Home for Collective Generosity
Founded in 2025 by Gobundance CEO Matt King, the Gobundance Foundation was created to serve as a trusted and reliable source of giving for the Gobundance community. What began as a clear need to simplify how members give, serve, and create impact together became a shared commitment to generosity rooted in trust, transparency, and long-term impact. With strategic support from Foundation X, the Foundation was thoughtfully designed and launched with operational support designed to help implement the founder’s vision.
In its inaugural year, the Foundation mobilized the Gobundance network to raise over $120,000, activating members not only as donors, but as advocates and connectors. Through personal outreach, shared storytelling, and collective momentum, the tribe transformed individual generosity into a coordinated force for good.
This launch marked more than the creation of an organization. It established a lasting platform where members can give with confidence, knowing their contributions are stewarded with integrity and multiplied through community. The result is a powerful example of what happens when generosity is aligned, trusted, and shared. The power of one, multiplied by all of us.
Signature Activity Highlight: End of Year Impact
At the annual End-of-Year Business Meeting, Foundation X partnered with NorthRock to facilitate a firmwide employee impact activity focused on supporting children in foster care. Together, employees created more than 250 superhero boxes for Foster Love, providing essential items and encouragement to foster care agencies and children throughout the Minneapolis community where NorthRock is headquartered.
This hands-on activity exemplified the power of collaboration bringing employees together around a shared purpose and translating generosity into tangible support for children who need it most.
Closing Reflection
Together, the combined efforts of NorthRock Partners and Foundation X reflect a year of generosity carried forward through thoughtful advising, engaged employees, committed partners, and the trust of our clients.
This year’s impact reflects what happens when generosity is supported, shared, and sustained. Across clients, employees, and partners, resources moved with intention, creating meaningful outcomes for organizations and communities near and far.
As NorthRock Partners and Foundation X look ahead, we remain committed to guiding generosity wherever it leads, strengthening the connections between financial strategy and community impact, and continuing to create better ways for doing good.
